Right to complain to the Nigerian Data Protection Commission

To make the enjoyment of the statutory rights to privacy meaningful for Nigerian Citizens, the NDPA 2023 gives the Nigerian Data Protection Commission wide powers to receive, investigate and decide on petitions from the public on privacy practices of organisations that violate the law. The NDPC can make orders that prevent continuous violations of data subject rights, in addition to imposing administrative monetary penalties (AMP) for non-compliance by organisations.
